AT&T adds hundreds of jobs at newly renovated call center in Broward County, Fla.

AT&T Inc. on Tuesday invited government officials and economic development executives to tour its Sunrise call center, where the telecommunications giant (NYSE: T) invested $6 million in renovations and aims to grow its workforce to 650 employees. Renovations began 19 months ago on the 104,000-square-foot building at 8650 W. Oakland Park Blvd. In August 2017, the center had just 40 employees. It has since grown to 475 workers. “Today is about the creation of good-paying jobs,” said Jamal Sowell, CEO of Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development agency. “Florida’s pro-business climate makes good business sense.” South Florida Business Journal
