Economic impact of Winston-Salem’s Smith Reynolds Airport leads the way among general aviation public airports in NC

Smith Reynolds Airport contributed $801 million and 3,585 jobs to the state economy in 2017, the largest economic contribution among North Carolina general aviation public airports. On Monday, the N.C. Department of Transportation Division released a report that analyzed the economic impact of the state’s aviation industry using 2017 data. The report was developed to help steer aviation investment and to assist in the recruitment of aerospace business. The top economic contributors in the state were commercial service airports, such as Piedmont Triad International, Charlotte Douglas International and Raleigh-Durham International.
